[:en]On Tuesday we had a building day on the boat. The sun was shining and we have a lot of stuff that had to be fixed before we go away in June. Kjell spent the most of the day in the garage building on the battery solution. There is going to be a very long blogpost about that soon. We are just waiting for the last solar panels so we can finish the electrical installation.
For my part i was building a prototype mount for our trusty old Raymarin ST 2000 autopilot. I mean we have realized that it´s not possible to self steer the boat on a long cruise. It sure would become very tiresome in the end. Because we don´t want to have anything permanently fixed in the boat, and we don´t want to drill unnecessary holes, the best solution was to use the mount for the engine in some way. And being a plumber i thought , why don´t bend a stainless pipe. It worked perfectly when we tried it out on dry land. Lets hope it works as well in the sea when the wind blows. It would be somewhat impractical if it only worked on dry land, when it is fixed on a boat.

In this picture the mount is in place and we are connecting the cables for the power-supply. You can se that we have m modified the engine mount. That is because, when we had our Torqeedo mounted, the rigg and propeller were in the water when we sailed. Because of that the speed was reduced a lot. No good at all.

Autopilot installed. When we want to have a clean deck we only have to take away the engine mount and autopilot and we are done.
Another picture of the cables. As you can see we are using the inspection hole in the deck for the poweplug. That way we can restore the boat to its original shape.

To be continued…..[:sv]I tisdags så blev det en fixardag med båten. Det finns ju en hel del att göra innan vi ska åka iväg i slutet av juni. Kjelle tillbringade ett antal timmar i garaget med att bygga vidare på vår batterilösning. Det kommer ett separat inlägg senare med byggbilder på hur vi löst elen på båten. just nu sitter vi och väntar på de sista solpanelerna och kan inte göra klart den installationen.
Själv så byggde jag på en prototyp för hur vi ska montera vår trofasta Raymarin ST 2000 autopilot. Vi har ju insett att det inte går att sitta och styra själv när vi ska ut på långseglingar. Det skulle bli för jäkla drygt i längden. Eftersom vi inte vill ha något fast monterat i sittbrunnen, både på grund av att vi inte vill ta hål i båten i onödan och för att det kommer vara vägen när vi ska sova där, så blev den bästa lösningen att använda motorfästet på något sätt. Varför inte bocka ett rostfritt rör, som den rörmokare jag är? Fungerade perfekt när vi provkörde på land. Får hoppas det även blir bra när det blåser på lite ute på sjön. Vore lite opraktiskt om det bara fungerar på land när det är en segelbåt!

Här sitter fästet på plats och vi håller på med att dra fram kablar för ström. Man ser på bilden att vi har ändrat vinkeln på motorfästet. Det beror på att när vi hade vår Torqeedo motor monterad så hängde riggen och propeller ner i vattnet när vi seglade. Nu kan vi ha motorn på plats under segling utan att det är något som bromsar upp farten.
Närbild på autopiloten med fästet på rorkulten. Vi har använt en rostfri rörklammer som är klämd över rorkulten. Nu sitter det en försinkad M6 skruv som ska ersättas med rostfritt.
Kabeldragning på gång. Vi använder inspektionshålet i sittbrunnen för att montera kontakten. På så sätt går det att återställa båten till originalskick senare om vi vill.
Autopilot monterad. När vi vill ha det rent på däck så demonterar vi bara motorfästet och tar bort autopiloten.
